I just don't understand how people are in regards to two things... doing the dishes and having a nice and clean living/work space. Check this out, is it really THAT hard to keep up and/or do?
Doing the dishes. Okay, so let's just say you go out to eat and on your plate there's little dried pieces of food stuck on your plate. First instinct... GROSS! Now let's take that thought home while you're at doing the dishes. Wouldn't you want your dishes to be spotless and clean without those nasty dried out pieces from your last meal? Duh, of course you do. So naturally you'll scrub the crap out of your dishes when you're washing it. Okay.... so my question is, how do you really wash your dishes?
- Personally, I scrub the crap out of them and yes even the bottom even though it's not really that dirty! And depending on how much I have to wash, I'll wash (soap) everything and then load it into the dishwasher to rinse. But regularly I just use my dishwasher as my drying rack. All in all, I think doing the dishes is a skill many lack!
Loading the dishwasher. Okay, now this I believe has an art to it. To maximize space in your dishwasher you HAVE to load it correctly! So why do people just dump things in there not planning a strategy. Okay so maybe the whole 'planning a strategy' is a bit much. But you get what I mean right? You can't just cram crap anywhere if you want everything to fit nicely to get cleaned properly regardless if it's just to rinse. Hence the obvious setup of the prongs in a dishwasher. The dishwasher company obviously set those poky divider things in a way that allows an even, organized way to setup your dishes and stuff... FOLLOW IT!
- Like it said, this is an art many people yet have to acquire!
Workspace. So I'm constantly reminded, or ridiculed, that my office area is always neat and organized. Is that really a bad thing? Is it so horrible that I like to work in an area that is neat, clean and organized; and because of which helps me feel less stressed out? Is it SO BAD that it's so much easier and quicker to find things when everything is in it's place? Doesn't it make it nice that one doesn't have to always be right in front of their desk to tell you where to go to find something because it's so organized? Hey man, even a cave man can do it... lol...
- I think it's AWESOME that it's organized. And I love how it's calming to sit in an area where there isn't clutter all over the place! Besides I love not looking like a slob whenever someone high-up comes to visit!
Living space. Quite similar to our workspace where we live should be just as important. Is it so hard to put something back when you're done with it? Hang up a sweater if you're not going to wear it for the day? Throw NICELY your clothes INTO your hamper instead of hanging all around the hamper? Is it so hard to throw trash away when your done with it instead of placing it some where else to find later on? Isn't it nice to have a designated spot for everything, say your coat and purse when you walk in the door or room for example. In the morning when you get dressed, is it really that difficult to re-hang the clothes you decided on not wearing right then and there?
- Personally, I can only... truely relax when my room/home is clean. I think if you do a quick clean of your place once every week your place will not get bad, nor will it be difficult to clean. Take the bathroom for example, if you do a quick clean of it once a week you wouldn't be having a hard time scrubbing all the crap off. It'll be really easy since it'll be fairly new. So now when someone comes to visit, you'll be ready and relaxed!
So, now that you're read all that, do you think I'm over reacting? ...am I OCD? ...am I normal? What do you think?
